Street outreach and drop-in center for youth up to age 24 that provides crisis intervention, individual and group counseling, a place to take a shower, do laundry, get food, clothing, and medical services. Staff run support groups on HIV/AIDS, drug abuse, teenage parenting, gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender issues. Streetwork also provides syringe exchange, and wellness activities such as meditation, acupuncture, and nutritional counseling. Streetwork has a second drop-in center on the Lower East Side (33 Essex Street) and opened a shelter in February 2002 on 153rd Street and Amsterdam Avenue.
